“A golden halo of fireflies
In a way it was much too close
I wish i could have told you then (how i feel)
We sit together in darkness staring up at the sky
And the stars they shine so bright
I have these dreams and i know exactly what to say
And you tell me you forgive me
It’s going to be all right this time
If i could i would wall my ears so they heard nothing
I would have covered my eyes
If i could i would
And your eyes they shine so bright
In your eyes i see the truth
In your words i hear the truth” —

Inkwell - Shine So Bright
The second song that is tied for my favourite ever. Ive been trying to source the 7” for years, but I always get outbid on ebay cause its so rare. Makes me sad I wanna hear it come from a record so bad.
“well it’s happened again i’ve fallen down and back in this rut
never thought i’d feel so empty again
but i know what’s triggered it this time
it’s the day in day out facts of mundane life
i need change.
maybe even a breath of fresh air
somewhere anywhere it’s happening again
something new to see a different road a different pub
just something, anything to give me a kick
so sick to death of the same old things that i just can’t leave behind
i got a number to call it was a good thing to do
but i just can’t drag myself through the fucking hassle again
it’s nothing more than a quick fix and a fix i can’t afford
i took the car out the other night and i could’ve just kept going i swear
100kms from home and i was so fucking free
but then i starting thinking twice and couldn’t leave it all behind
sick to death of the same old things that i just can’t leave behind” —Lyrics to Change by Fuck It I Quit. Tied for my favourite song ever. You have to hear it to really appreciate how amazing it is.
